What is Mission Trek?

This parish sponsored LIFETEEN activity involves high school teens in a year round effort to share in the ministry of Christ through service to others. This group's ministry will take them on a week-long trip each year.

Expectations

  1. Be on time for the event.
  2. Wear your mission trek T-shirt or the appropriate attire for the event as requested. (Such as black pants, white shirt for certain more formal events.)
  3. Sign in! It is up to you to get the credit you deserve for working an event. Also, if someone is working for you, you must also be working the event side by side with them and they must sign in and indicate they are there to work for you so you get the proper credit. Don't assume the adults in charge know your intentions. Help us out by writing things down. We are a very large group and we can't always keep track of verbal information.
  4. Be attentive to the duties you are expected to be doing for the event. This is your top priority! It is great that we are all together and we love to visit, but remember, you are there for a job to do and we should represent MT and our parish well.
  5. Please listen to the adults in charge. They are there to help you and make sure that we as a group do our jobs well for the parish or whomever we are serving.
  6. Please find a sub if you are unable to work an event you signed up for. It is much appreciated as well if you contact the adult in charge of the event to let them know of the change in your plans.
  7. Remember, to smile and enjoy serving. It is what we are all about and our hearts should sing and be cheerful givers. It truly makes the job lighter and those we serve feel that joy as well.
  8. Last but not least, We are all in this together, we are all here to help one another, adults and teens. Please don't leave anyone out or excluded. Serving together unites us closer as a group. By the time we are in Mexico or Nebraska, we should be comfortable serving side by side with each of our fellow MT members.
